Above is a map of EJ that I got from EQMaps. I have added to it the approx locations of the druid port, the wizard port, Sev's spawn, and the safe spot. From the safe spot it is possible to successfully track Sev with a tracking skill of 120, although he will wander in and out of tracking rage at that level.
An alternate method is to start a twink that will acquire the spell 'Sense: Summoned'. Park this twink at the FoB zone line (which may also be a viable tracking safe spot as well) and cast Sense: Summoned. If Sev is up, his pet will be up as well, and your twink will spin around to face him. There have reports that Sev's pet will remain alive after Sev's death, in which case this method is not foolproof.
Camping Sev can be very easy if done following a server patch. He is a guaranteed pop within 24 hours of the server coming back up again. You might be sitting there all day, or you might only be sitting there for 3 hours when he finally shows his ugly green arse, but at least you know you have the right day.
Camping Sev's respawn is a little more difficult, since I have not found anybody that agrees on his respawn time following death. Some say 0-3 days on respawn, some say 3 days with 24 hour window, some say 5 days with 24 hour window, some say 5-7 days with 24 hour window, and some say 7 days with 24 hour window. I say forget about respawn and wait for a server patch, buuuuuuuut if you've got some free time, recent reports from both Inny and another server are leaning towards a verified 5-7 day respawn time.
Competition for Sev's spawn does not seem to be particularly heavy, either. Many times while camping him, I've also checked who else was in the zone. Most often the traffic in EJ is limited to people on their way to Seb or CoM. I do see several rangers and druids in the zone from time to time as well, and since I'm insanely paranoid, I assume they are watching for Sev, but they often log or zone out after about 30 minutes.
Given the low traffic in EJ, it is safe to say that you need only check for Sev once an hour or so. Either you will not see him, or you will see him. I'm sure few guilds will take less than an hour to organize and buff and pull Sev, so if you log in, find Sev up, and there is a considerable number of people in the zone from the same guild, they are likely going after Sev. If there is only one other person in zone, I'd bet that Sev is free for the taking.
So you find Sev up, what do you do next? I'd recommend about 3-4 balanced 55+ groups. The lower the levels of the groups, the more people you will need, especially damage wise. Recommended resists are magic and poison. Sev has a nasty little AE stun/poison, in addition to fearing people. A cleric's ability to resist the stun and the fear will basically make or break an attempt on Sev.
Sev is lvl 60, has 32k hp, classed as a Shaman, and hits for 520 max. He is immune to poison and runs at SoW speed. Sev does not corpse camp, but does take his time in resetting to his spawn point. If there is a wipe out, and you run back to EJ, be cautious of where you are in relation to Sev, because Sev will summon you and kill you when you get near to him, despite the fact that you have zoned numerous times. Chances are you won't even see Sev when he summons you. It's happened to me twice, and it's not fun finding all of your naked corpses without locs.
If I manage to scrounge up any more information, I'll add it on here.
Good hunting, people.
