The Stuff List
Stuff expands to fill all available space. Then, when we realize that there is just too much stuff around, we give it away or sell it, and then we have a whole lot more space to accumulate yet more stuff.
This is a list of the stuff that I have accumulated, and probably don't need any more. Sell it on e-bay? I suppose I could, but e-bay auctions only last a week or so. Most of this stuff is of such little interest to people that I doubt very much that it would be sold on such an on-line auction. Also, some of it would be quite expensive to ship anywhere. Craigslist? Same problem - advertisements there only last a week or so.
Thus, I am leaving here a list of the stuff that I would some day like to sell / give away / trade / whatever. Maybe someday someone who wants something will stumble across this page and make an offer I can't refuse.
If you want any of this stuff, please contact me at gl4317 @ yahoo . com Unfortunately I am not able to check the mail at this address very much, but I will eventually answer all mail sent there. OR, you can figure out from the URL of this web site what my real, regular e-mail address is.
Stuff I Have and Don't Need Anymore:
All items below are in the Portland, Oregon area.
- Borland Turbo C++, Reference Library and Disks. Turbo C++, cira 1990. 5x 3.5" disks. 6 books, creating a stack about 9 inches tall.
- SimCity 2000 for the Macintosh. Includes box, manual, CD-ROM.
- Macintosh 6100 computer and Monitor and Keyboard. No ADB mouse. Not sure about condition as I have never used the thing. How did I wind up with this anyway? I use a perfectly functional PowerMac 7100 even today, so how did I wind up with a second ancient Macintosh beast?
- Apple IIe / Apple ][+ computers, and so on, etc.
- Okimate 20 color printer. Cira 1986 color printer. Was used with the Apple IIe / Apple ][+ computers. Appears to have a failed thermal system, but there are some nice parts that someone might use as part of an electronics project, including a working motor for the printer carriage assembly.
- Epson dot matrix printer cira 1992. Has several settings for print style, including script.
- Apple ][ software, including a box of games, and what is probably the oldest word processing program for a home computer anywhere: Word Handler, cira 1978. I'm not sure the disks are still readable, but the system still worked as of 1994. I also have a whole box of game software someone gave me, including such things as administrative programs for Dungeons & Dragons (this is not a game, but a program to help in the administration of an actual role playing game), and about 15 others. Again, I am not sure if the old disks can still be read, but I have kept them in a cool relatively dry climate to prevent as best as possible their decay.
Stuff I would Like to Have:
So you want to trade some of my junk for some of your junk? Here is what I am looking for:
- Railroad memorabilia - tell me what you have. There is a group trying to get a railroad museum started in the Portland area, and any of a number of materials would be interesting to get.
- 100 megabyte ZIP disks in working order.
- Picture frames - looking for good condition, in the 20 inch by 30 inch or so size range. I want to get some of my old 35 mm slide materials on the walls, but frames for the stuff are expensive.
- An old cheap laptop of some sort. All it has to be capable of doing is operate on 120v power, edit a text file, and save stuff to a floppy disk.
