The Foz do Iguaçu is a spectacular place to visit, even in the rain. Besides, if you are from Portland, Oregon and visiting Brasil in the middle of summer, then you don't care if it gets cold and comfortable.
The Basics:
- E-Mail Address: brasil98@despammed.com I continue to have trouble with spam coming to any e-mail address that I post publicly. However, I can't always access the brasil on-line account that is a common e-mail address that I give out.
- glennl at easystreet dot com most of you should be able to figure out. This is done to help reduce the amount of e-mail I receive. Remember that in the USA the @ sign means "at".
- One odd little activity recently has been reading the Bible in the parks scattered all through the Portland area.
- Graduated in 1993 with a degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Portland
- The first church I attended regularly was the Oregon City Evangelical Church, and I started there in 1986 or so. I have found that the pastors in the Evangelical Church of North America can teach what the Bible says extremely well. This was good, since I was a very new believer in Christ at that time.
The church got too big for me around 1995, and I started feeling uncomfortable there. Around 1997 I left to find another church that felt more comfortable. For a year I attended the Milwaukie Faith Evengelical Church ( I tried several other churches outside the denomination but didn't find any of them particularly interesting, and lacking the quality of teaching that I had come to expect from the ECNA. ) but that church also didn't work out too well for me simply because much of what they had was oriented towards married and retired people. As a single person, I just didn't fit in there very well. I finally started going to the Valley View Evangelical Church. They are further away from home, but they are a smaller church and have a wonderful church library.
